Ullswater 'Steamers' announce 2021 Group offer

New VIP Cruise on Ullswater 2021 Passengers will enjoy a one-hour circular sailing from Glenridding at the southern end of Ullswater, complete with a live commentary guiding visitors along the Lake District’s highest mountains, through the sweeping landscape of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 71-year-old Lady Wakefield will be dedicated completely to the group travel market and will set sail on the hour throughout the day from late March 21 at 11am and 2pm. Tour guides will travel for free, and tickets include complimentary tea or coffee on arrival. Tickets are priced at £9.95 per person, with special rates available for series tours. Min/Max 30-50 depending on make- up of group. Single One Hour Cruise Ideal for groups travelling to/from North to South or vice versa. This cruise is approx. one hour and travels the full seven mile length of Ullswater. Drop off at Pooley Bridge or Glenridding Pier. This is for tour operators only min 10 persons per booking. 2021 price £12 per person with free place for tour guides on scheduled services. Cruise & Whisky Distillery Tour One-hour circular cruise from Glenridding and tour of the Lakes Distillery. A tour of the Lakes Distillery and tasting with an optional stop at Rheged. Visitors have the opportunity to follow the production journey and also sample the spirits distilled and blended at the distillery, including; The only British Isles Blended Whisky, The ONE, The Lakes Gin and The Lakes Vodka. Fare £22.50 pp. Joint attraction Tours – Lowther Castle & Gardens, Wordsworth Trust Dove Cottage, Dalemain Historic Mansion & Gardens We have three joint attraction tours available in conjunction with Lowther Castle & Gardens , Wordsworth Trust Dove Cottage and Dalemain Historic Mansion & Gardens. One hour cruise on scheduled services and one entry to the second attraction. These tours are for tour operators only and can be taken in the same day. Min 10 persons, must be pre booked. Tours can booked at one attraction. Tour prices TBC. Lunch options available at all properties but please book direct with the chosen attraction. Lowther Castle & Gardens – Built at the turn of the 19th century, the Castle is one of the most intriguing visitor attractions in the country. Dramatic ruins, gardens within gardens, Wordsworth Trust Dove Cottage - Wordsworth produced most of his greatest and best-loved poems at Dove Cottage including ‘Daffodils’. The Daffodils can be seen in the Spring on the Ullswater shoreline at Glencoyne Bay. Dalemain Historic Mansion & Gardens - In 1679, Sir Edward Hasell bought Dalemain thanks to a legacy from his employer Lady Anne Clifford. Home to the World famous Marmalade festival. Himalayan blue poppy and exquisite 1757 Chinese wall paper. Boots and Boats Walking Tour This option is suitable for walking and nature tours who want to do something a little bit different. Combine a cruise with some of the most famous walks in the Lake District, around the Ullswater Way. A single journey from Pooley Bridge or Glenridding to Howtown is approx 40 minutes. Fare £8 pp single journey. National Trust Aira Force Waterfall Tour Option for one way or return 20 minute cruise from Glenridding. The tumbling waterfall of Aira Force drops an impressive 65ft and can be reached by an enchanting stroll through ancient red squirrel woodland and landscaped glades. You can experience the falls from high up and down below from the ornate stone bridges. There is a further connection with William Wordsworth at Aira Force, which lies between Glencoyne Park and the hill called Gowbarrow to the North. The legend associated with the waterfall concerns Emma, the daughter of the Duke of Norfolk, and her husband Sir Eglamore. Fare £6 pp single journey £12 pp return journey. 1st Class Cruise & Steam Tour A combined 1st class tour including a private charter one hour cruise on Ullswater from Glenridding Pier and return 1stclass carriage journey from Ravenglass Station on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. Passengers will enjoy a one-hour circular sailing from Glenridding at the southern end of Ullswater, through the sweeping landscape of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take the train from Ravenglass, located in two UNESCO World Heritage Sites on the Western Lake District Coast, to the foot of Englands highest mountains, Scafell range. This is a return trip in one of the 1st class carriages pulled by heritage steam engines. The tours do not have to be taken on the same day. Fare £28.50 pp. One Happy Family A combined fare with our sister attraction the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. The tour includes a one hour single seven mile cruise on Ullswater from either Pooley Bridge or Glenridding Piers and a return steam trip on the Railway from Ravenglass Station.
